Travel
A few months ago one of my best friends says, "Hey, flights to Norway are really inexpensive. You guys want to go?" After pondering this for 15 seconds I said yes. From there friends were added, an additional flight to the arctic circle area of the Lofoten Islands was planned and many cameras were packed in bags.
This was a fun little video me and my husband Raphael filmed while road-tripping through Oregon and Washington. Shot on the Canon 1dx Mark ii, a GH5 and a Phantom 4 Pro.
A small taste of the past couple years as I've adventured around the world with some of the best people on Earth. Kauai Oahu Alaska Norway Montana Thailand Bali New Mexico California Malaysia Arizona
We decided to take a quick trip to Park City.
We love to travel and capture beautiful footage, so for New Year's we planned a trip to the Hoh Rainforest to explore with our cameras. This is also where we got engaged - so while you're watching this, know that Kristin is oblivious throughout the entire video that he's about to propose - and Raphael is carrying a pound of rose petals in his camera bag.
One week in an RV traveling the beautiful state of California. Our route showed us the diverse vistas that our home has to offer. We began traveling from Los Angeles to Joshua Tree, then on to Big Sur, up through to San Francisco, then over to Tahoe and finally Yosemite.
Shot on the Canon 1DX mark ii and a GH5.
Some things I learned in Thailand:
1.) The fresh coconut (meat and water) + banana smoothies are amongst the best in the world.
2.) So is the pad thai from the street food vendors. So. Good.
3.) If a cute little lady at the local restaurant asks you if you want "medium" spice and you ask her "is it THAT spicy?" and she shakes her head no, she's lying. You're essentially eating fire - but it's so delicious you won't care.
4.) If you're on a motorbike, off-roading on a dirt road to find a secret beach and you see a pack of 20 wild dogs... perhaps turn around. We were okay but damn that was a close one. Twice...
5.) Wake up early and ride through the city before sunrise on your motorbike. Watch the monks in awe, stop to eat the street food, grab a smoothie and relish the moment.
6.) If you're contemplating getting your scuba certification in Thailand, do it.
7.) Don't let all of the meat in this video fool you, it's entirely possible to be plant-based in Thailand and just as delicious.
Two friends. One Camera. No tripod. Fourteen cities. Sixteen pizzas (low estimate). Also... Three priests and two people making out. Shot with the a7s. One lens: 24-105. And a goPro To use this video in a commercial player or in broadcasts, please email licensing@storyful.com
We went on a spontaneous 24-hour adventure to the Salton Sea to go ATV'ing with friends & managed to catch a beautiful sunset along the way. Shot by Raphael Rogers & Kristin Gerhart Edited by Kristin Gerhart
Kristin and I made our way around Venice to watch the sunset and play with the 1DX Mark II.
I attended my first sound bath in Tulum Mexico and the moment I peaked my eye open to see what was going on, I had to film it. Combined with meditation footage I shot with Miki Ash that same day.
Our first time doing the polar plunge. In the actual Arctic. It was cold.
I created this for Conde Nast Traveler's Shorties Competition, enjoy!
